I started building homes and making cabinetry in North Carolina 17 years ago for a local builder and was able to be involved in the process of home building from site prep, foundations, wall framing, siding and roofing, interior trim and millwork installation, custom cabinets, with skills in minor electrical and plumbing work and eventually worked my way up to lead carpenter on the crew. Now at 40 and after a career change its time for me to get back into my roots, back to having a physical product you can look back at at the end of the day. while my employer changed my passion did not and I have continued building and creating up to this day.
